Bendit began with a meeting of minds in 2013. Founder Oz Cabiri knew from previous experience that microsurgery could sometimes fail when clinicians struggled to navigate the vascular system. His vision for a better solution brought together leaders from the laser cutting technology industry (ANV Laser) and the Quality and Regulatory field (Li-Med). With the necessary pieces in place, the Bendit microcatheter was born.
Bendit received its first FDA clearance for the Bendit 2.7 in 2019 cleared for periphery treatments. Understanding the revolution that an adjustable microcatheter could cause in neurology and cardiology, Bendit worked to develop the Bendit 21 and the smaller Bendit 17.
The company has grown to a staff of 20 dedicated to advancing the usability of microcatheters for clinicians around the world. Bendit has completed a ‘B round’ of funding with investors including Varian Medical Systems and Indaco Venture Partners.
